$1.1M NSF grant to fund statewide cyberinfrastructure project

Researchers at the Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences, together with collaborators at other institutions within Pennsylvania, have been awarded approximately $1.1 million in funding under the U.S. National Science Foundation Campus Cyberinfrastructure program to develop a commonwealth-wide secure network and related cyberinfrastructure to interconnect Pennsylvania colleges and universities.

New Kensington Digital Foundry receives Pa. grant to kick off Manufacturing Week

Gwen Ross, director of workforce development for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, kicked off Pennsylvania's “Manufacturing Week’ on Oct. 6 by announcing a $200,000 Manufacturing PA Training-to-Career grant to boost the skill sets of individuals participating in training at Penn State New Kensington's Digital Foundry.

Resources, support and ways to help in Turkey, Syria following earthquake

From Rust Belt to Green Belt: Penn State leads nuclear research alliance

Led by Penn State, academia, national laboratories and industry have formed the Post-Industrial Midwest and Appalachia (PIMA) Nuclear Alliance to harness carbon-free energy while educating and training the future energy workforce. The alliance will host a workshop to continue establishing their team, conceptualizing their goals and developing their project plans at Penn State New Kensington’s Digital Foundry on Dec. 8-9.

Photo submission for new Penn State id+ cards now active

Penn State students, faculty and staff with older versions of the id+ card are being asked to submit new photos ahead of re-carding events that will be held University-wide during the spring 2023 semester. There are multiple ways to submit a photo, and photos will be accepted from Nov. 7 through Nov. 23.
